Victims of a completed homicide in a domestic setting, women and girls (Swiss Criminal Code art. 111–113/116). “Other relationship” = total minus victims of a current partner; a victim killed by several people can fall under several relationship types.
Behind each plate there was a name, a story, people who loved her. This project does not show them: it leaves their place empty.

Femicide figures are often read and then forgotten. Couverts puts them on a table: each plate is a woman or girl killed in Switzerland in a domestic setting, by a partner, an ex-partner or a family member.
The data come from the police crime statistics of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), year by year from 2009 to 2025. There is no official femicide statistic in Switzerland: these figures count completed homicides in a domestic setting.
